In this page, we’ll run thru a common procedure in making a Motor Insurance claim.
FIRST AND FOREMOST:
- - If there’s an injury, ensure to contact the emergency services first
- - Contact the police if the accident involves an injured pedestrian or cyclist, hit-and-run incident, vehicles belonging to the Government or are not registered in Singapore
- - Installing the triangular emergency sign 20m before from the accident site to ensure safety of all involve
- - Move your vehicle onto the road shoulder as soon as possible so as not to endanger another road
CLAIM
KEY POINTS OF THE MOTOR CLAIMS FRAMEWORK (MCF)

• Exchange contact information with those involved in the accident. Ensure to note down essential information such as:
- - Name(s) and NRIC/FIN Number(s)
- - Addresses and contact numbers
- - Vehicle registration number and name of their Insurance Company
- - Company name if the accident involves a company owned vehicle
- • Take note of the vehicle numbers
- • Take pictures at the accident scene and submit all pictures at your authorised accident reporting centre during your reporting
What To Photograph : 
SCENE
Take pictures of the accident scene capturing the accident vehicles and surrounding areas.
OWN VEHICLE
Take pictures of the damages to your own vehicle capturing your license plate.
OTHER DAMAGED VEHICLES
Take pictures of the damages to all other vehicles involved in the accident capturing licence plates. For multiple vehicle collision, take pictures of those with direct contact, e.g, immediate front and immediate rear vehicles.
- • Call your insurer’s hotline for a tow truck or for further advice on the accident
- • Report and bring your accident vehicle (whether damaged or not) to the approved reporting centre / authorised workshop within 24 hours or by the next working day
